Seattle Premiere

I’m also heading to Seattle, Washington soon for the premiere of my newest piece In the Gold Room: a Harmony. The wonderful Esoterics, conducted by Eric Banks, are performing the choral piece three times on the weekend of October 7-9th. Casa Baldi Residency

I am thrilled to have been selected for a 3-month residency at the Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano, Italy in 2017! The residency is awarded by the German Academy in Rome and I will be there from July to September, 2017. A press release (in German) is available here.

HGNM Zeitlupe

pale glimmering trails, my new work for the Asian Art Ensemble, was presented as part of the HGNM Zeitlupe concert series at the Sprengel Museum, Hannover. Il-Ryun Chung, artistic director of the ensemble, led a discussion about my work on this new piece. Thanks to the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation for supporting the commission of this piece!

Graz Residency

From November 2105 to January 2016 I’ve been a guest of the Styria Artist-in-Residency Program in Graz, Austra (Ministry of Culture in Styria). I’ve been working at the Schaumbad in town and am giving an artist’s talk there on January 31 (more info here). Members of the Schallfeld Ensemble will be performing my piece Domestic Abuse, and Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka is moderating a discussion about my work!

Siemens Commission

The Asian Art Ensemble has commissioned me to write a new piece for Koto, Gayageum, Cello and Double Bass, to be premiered on March 29th in the Konzerthaus in Berlin, Germany. The commission has been made possible with the generous support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
